Can I book a tour without anyone seeing my profile?
Absolutely, when you create a profile, just go to your profile page and adjust your settings to the level that feels right for you.
What if I don’t want to ride with a group?
No problem, you can choose one of our Indie tours and ride on your own or you can contact us about creating a custom group. Another option is to host a group trip and keep it private. In this case, only you and the people you invite are able to view and join your trip.
How long does it take to confirm my tour?
In most cases, we can confirm a tour within 24 hours. But in some cases it may take a few days longer so please allow up to a week.
Is there a charge if I need to make changes to something I booked with BikeSherpa?
Yes, our tour operator partners are strict about charging for changes once the tours are booked, even for minor changes. If you alter an order in any way after it has been processed by us, we will have to charge a $100 fee for each change.
Can a tour get canceled?
Independent tours generally do not have a minimum number of participants and will not get canceled. Independent BikeSherpaExtra tours are only confirmed once the minimum number of participants has been reached.
Although rare, guided tours may be canceled by our tour operator partners if the minimum number of participants is reached or for any other reason. If the tour operator cancels a tour, you are entitled to a 100% refund. the refund will be paid to you within 14 days of receipt of refund by BikeSherpa from the tour operator. We will work with you to find a replacement tour or we’ll credit your purchase amount for a future tour.
If you cancel your bike tour order, the following cancellation fees will apply:
* Cancellation more than 91 days before tour departure date - $150 fee
* Cancellation between 61-90 days before tour departure date - $250 fee
* Cancellation between 31-60 days before tour departure date - $50% of total tour price or $500, whichever is greater
* Cancellation within 30 days of tour departure date – 100% of tour price

What's the difference between Category A and Category B accommodations?
Many of our tours offer two choices of hotel categories. Category A levels are for those people looking for a higher level of luxury or a more central location than Category B. But we make sure that Category B hotels are clean and comfortable.

BikeSherpa chooses the best local & regional tour operators to run our tours in order to assure premium service and value. We work with companies that have a long history of success in the regions they operate in.
All supported and guided tours are led by passionate cyclists with expert knowledge of the cities and routes they travel. We regularly meet with the tour operators, inspect their facilities, interview the staff and review their tours.
Based on our approval process, we choose only those tour operators that are able to provide the high level of service our customers expect.
