South Tyrol enchants with its appealing mixture of German traditions and Italian flair. We start our tour in the cathedral town of Brixen/Bressanone. We ride through the green Puster Valley, which centers on the medieval town of Bruneck. Then onto Bolzano, its surroundings graced by the mild climate. We pedal past idyllic vineyards around Eppan where the largest contiguous fruit growing region in Europe continues up to Lake Kaltern. We roll down through the fertile Vinschgau Valley into Merano.

— Day 1: Brixen (Trentino-Alto Adige)
arrive in Brixen, a cathedral town the is a popular ski resort area in the winter. Check into the 4-star hotel, the Goldene Krone, where we will spend the next three nights.
Stroll through Brixen and enjoy dinner at the hotel or one of the carefully selected restaurants we recommend to you. Overnight in Brixen.
59 km Day 2: Brixen (Trentino-Alto Adige)
Welsberg - Rienz - Puster Valley - Bruneck - Brixen
We take a local train to Welsberg where our ride begins. Today we enjoy a gentle bike ride down from 1,100 meters down to 600 meters. We cycle along the wildly romantic Rienz with its fantastic views onto the Dolomites through the Puster Valley. We can visit the South Tyrol Museum of Ethnography in Bruneck. After the visit in the attractive old town, the journey continues through small villages, woods and fields. A short (train) transfer brings us back to Brixen.

42 km Day 3: Brixen (Trentino-Alto Adige)
Cable car to Plose - Würzjoch mountain peaks - Puster Valley - Brixen
A cable car takes us up Plose, the ski region. We take a challenging ride with breathtaking views of the mountain peaks up to 2,003 meters elevation through the Würzjoch mountain pass. Later, we cruise down the long descent into the Puster Valley. We take the train back to Brixen. As an alternative, we can go along a flatter route to Sterzing.

43 km Day 4: Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige)
Brixen - Klausen - Bolzano
Today we follow the babbling Eisack River southward though the narrow valley on an ancient trade route gentle downhill from 600 m down to 275 m. Stop in the morning in the medieval municipality of Klausen with its alleyways nestled between the river and the cliff. We pedal onto the elegant city of Bolzano (Bozen in German), where we'll spend the next two nights at the 4-star Mondschein Parkhotel Luna.
After the ride, enjoy a stroll through the hotel's own garden or check out Bolzano charm. Dinner at the hotel or one of the selected restaurants in town we recommend.
60 km Day 5: Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige)
Round trip around Lake Kaltern
After breakfast, our bike route weaves up into the idyllic vineyard scenery around Eppan and provides wide views into many country estates and manor houses, and then, into Kaltern, where we can take a vineyard tour. After encircling Lake Kaltern, the journey continues along the Adige back to Bozen.
Dinner at the Mondschein Parkhotel Luna or one of the selected restaurants in town we recommend.
40 km Day 6: Merano (Trentino-Alto Adige)
Bolzano - Merano
Today we take a short bike ride along the Adige into the spa town of Merano. TheTherme Merano Hotel’s modern architecture is unique and gracious. In the afternoon, we have time to visit the thermal baths and explore Merano
Dinner at the Therme Merano's restaurant or at one of the carefully selected hotels we suggest in town.
60 km Day 7: Merano (Trentino-Alto Adige)
Day trip into the Vinschgau
The Vinschgau train brings us to Mals, a beautiful mountain region bordering Switzerland and Austria. The ride today consists of a wonderful long gentle descent through Vinschgau Valley (from 1000 m down to 300 m). In Glurns, the smallest municipality of South Tyrol, provides a nice place for a break. We ride through lush gardens, vineyards and woods, finding our way back into the rushing Adige again and again, as it leads us back into Merano.
After another relaxing visit to the spa and thermal baths, we enjoy a last dinner the Therme Merano's restaurant or at one of the carefully selected hotels we suggest in town to celebrate the last night of our tour.

Brixen/Bressanone - Hotel Goldene Krone (3 nights) 4-star family run hotel, opened in 1717. Includes a gourmet restaurant and lounge, full wellness spa (offers include a hay flower bath in a glass winter garden under the stars), terrace and fresh water fountain. Bozen/Bolzano - Mondschein Parkhotel Luna (2 nights) 4-star family run hotel and restaurant in the center of elegant Bolzano. Mentioned in the historical record way back in the Middle Ages, as Taverna Manschein, the Mondschein Hotel has been in the possession of the Mayr family since 1798. The grounds include a grand hotel park, built in 1907, with garden restaurant. The hotel also includes a gourmet restaurant and lounge. There is also a spa that inlcudes sauna, bio sauna, steam room, salt grotto with whirlpool, showermax, bucket shower, and relaxation room.
